What Happens in Case of Violation?
In case an Artist has canceled the show(1), the Client might pursue legal action against the Artist. The Artist is required to pay the Agent the equivalent of the Clients’ booking deposit in 7 days as a penalty fee. Also, the Artist should reimburse the Client for cost differences between the fee for their performance and any substitute artist arranged through the Agent or Client. If the Client has canceled the booking, cancellation fees would be applicable.
When the cancellation fees are not paid within the stipulated days the Artist and/or the Agent might take legal action and might refer the sum to a debt recovery company.
In an artist booking contract, the Artist agrees towards employing the Agent to book performances for the Artist. The client here means the individual or company who wishes to hire the Artist through the Agent to perform at their Event.
